A Century of Rural Education
1860 – 1960
Written by Sam Bowers Hilliard and Mallie Brown, this publication was produced as a celebration of Hart County’s sesquicentennial anniversary. Highlighted in this book are individuals who were instrumental in developing Hart County’s educational system and the schools that helped to facilitate that mission. Mentioned in the book are schools such as Nuberg, New Prospect, and Viola, schools where our parents and grandparents got their education. Sadly, today, many of these buildings have disappeared.
